Per the Bulgaria AI Note (Irena Koleva, April 2026), the Ministry has prepared a draft Council of Ministers decision designating Bulgaria’s national notifying authority under the EU AI Act, with the Bulgarian Accreditation Service envisaged in that role. It has also conducted consultations on the competent market-surveillance authorities and convenes the inter-institutional working group developing the broader EU AI Act regulatory framework.
