Executive agency of the Council of Ministers responsible for the accreditation of conformity-assessment bodies in Bulgaria. The national accreditation body for the purposes of EU regulations on accreditation and market surveillance.
Envisaged as the national notifying authority under the EU AI Act in the draft Council of Ministers decision prepared by the Ministry of Electronic Governance.

Per the Bulgaria AI Note (Irena Koleva, April 2026), the Bulgarian Accreditation Service is envisaged as the national notifying authority under the EU AI Act in fulfilment of the obligations under Articles 28 and 70. Designation requires Council of Ministers adoption of the draft decision prepared by the Ministry of Electronic Governance.
